Foundation (Prep) Enrolment 2026

To start primary school your child must turn 5 years of age. or older, by 30 April of the year that they will start school.

 

Our school zone

Our school zone is avahelenilable on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

 

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

2026 Foundation (Prep) enrolments

The Department of Education has released the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for the 2026 school year.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Parkdale Primary School.

 

All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2025 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2026 at Parkdale Primary School from 22 April 2025.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school on 03 9580 1451 to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.  Tours will commence from Monday 24 February 2025.  School Tours are held during the term, Monday - Thursday at 9.15am or 10.15am. 
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available by 22 April 2025). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025.
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
  6. Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 28 January 2026.

Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July 2025 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

 

Supporting documentation for enrolment

An enrolment form (see link below) must be completed if you are enrolling your child for the first time in the Victorian government school system.

 

This form seeks personal and health information that should only be provided to the school your child will attend.

You will be required to provide the following information and documentation:

  • evidence of identity and date of birth (for example, a birth certificate or passport)
  • Immunisation History Statement
  • your contact details
  • emergency contact details
  • health information about your child (such as allergies or illnesses they need to manage)
  • other legal orders relating to your child and their welfare.
